Besan Laddu\ Besan Ladu

Yield: 10 small laddu
Total Time: 1hr 15 mins

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup gram flour (Besan)
  • 6 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup ghee
  • 1/8 tsp cardamom powder
  • pinch of nutmeg powder (fresh powder is preferred)
  • 1 tbsp raisins (optional. Any other dry fruit can be added as per choice)
  • 2 tbsp milk

Method:
  1. Heat ghee in pan. Add gram flour. Sauté it on simmer until golden brown.
  2. This takes around 30-45 mins. Don't get into hurry. It neither looks good nor tastes so spend enough time here till golden brown color.
  3. Remove pan from heat once desired color and nice aroma have come.
  4. Add milk and mix well in flour.
  5. Let this cool. Once it is cooled, add powdered sugar, cardamom and nutmeg powder and raisins.
  6. Mix everything very well and start forming laddu.
  7. While forming laddus, keep it moving in your palm until it gives shiny texture. When we keep on working on it, little ghee comes out and gives desired texture so be patient while forming laddus. :)
