Ingredients:
- 4 cups bread cubes (around 7-8 slices)
- 1 1/2 cups sliced onion
- 1 tbsp chopped green chillies
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
- 1 tbsp pandharpuri dal/ udad dal (roast it well if using udad dal)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 8-9 curry leaves
- 3-4 tbsp oil
- salt as per taste
- finely chopped coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
- Heat oil in pan. Add mustard seeds. Wait till it crackles.
- Add cumin seeds and pinch of asafoetida.
- Add curry leaves and chillies. Sauté them.
- Add peanuts, dal and onion. Sauté them until onion gets translucent.
- Add sugar and lemon juice. Stir well.
- Add turmeric powder. Stir again.
- Add bread cubes and mix everything well.
- Cover it for 2-3 mins.
- Give a nice stir before serving. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
