Coconut Chutney

Yield: 1 cup
Total Time: 15 mins

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup grated\shredded coconut
  • 7-8 garlic cloves
  • 2-3 green chillies
  • 4-5 curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves
  • salt to taste
  • sugar(optional)
  • 4 tbsp yogurt
  • water as per your choice

For tempering:
  • 1-2 tsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • pinch of asafoetida

Method:
  1. Grind coconut, garlic, chillies, curry leaves, coriander leaves, salt and sugar together till thick paste. You may use littler water to ease grinding.
  2. Remove paste in bowl. Add yogurt and water to it as per desired consistency.
  3. Heat oil for tempering. Add mustard seeds. Wait till crackles.
  4. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida.
  5. Add this tempering to chutney. Mix well.
  6. Coconut Chutney is ready...
