Whole Wheat Eggless Sponge Cake (No Icing Required)

This is very yummy cake with less efforts and usual ingredients. This does not even need any decoration with icing. Also, this is healthy too as we would be using whole wheat flour for this cake.Try it once, you will definitely love this.

Yield: one 9 inch Cake

Cooking Time:
25 mins


Ingredients:
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup youghurt
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method:

  1. Prepare tin by greasing and flouring. Keep it aside.
  2. Take youhurt, olive oil, sugar and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix them very well. Use spatula or a hand mixer.
  4. Add remaining ingredients to this mixture after sifting.
  5. Mix the batter well.
  6. Pour the batter in a prepared tin and bake it in a oven preheated with 350 degree F for 20-25 minutes.
  7. Check whether cake is ready with toothpick test. If toothpick inserted at center comes out clean then cake is ready to go out of the oven.
