Yield: 20-25 Puri
Preparation Time: 20 mins
Cooking Time:
20 mins

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup jaggery
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • oil to fry
  • 1 tbsp oil separate
  • 3/4 cup water

Method:

  1. Mix water and jaggery together. Heat it till combines.
  2. Add this water and 1 tbsp hot oil in flour.
  3. Knead the flour and form a dough. Dough should not be soft and sticky. If required add more flour.
  4. Form small balls.
  5. Roll each ball into puri. Another way to roll puri is that roll chapati and cut puri with cookie cutter or any round shaped small utensil like katori.
  6. Deep fry puris in oil 1-2 at a time. Remove these puris on paper so that extra oil will get absorbed.
Tip:

Sometimes these puris get stiff once they are cooled. But don't worry.. Put them in between Chapati\Roti. Even if Chapati is not hot, no worries. Puri will get soften in sometime and you can enjoy eating it.
