Ingredients:
- 3-3 1/4 cup sliced onion
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 2-3 tsp red chili powder
- 2 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 2 tsp carom seeds (ajawain)
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- pinch of asafoetida
- salt as per taste
- 1 cup gram flour (Besan)
- oil for frying
Method:
- Mix all ingredients except oil and besan. Keep it aside for at least 20-25 mins.
- Since we have added sugar and salt to onion, water comes out of it.
- Add Besan little at a time till it gets absorbed. Do not add water. If you want, add 2-3 tbsp of water. Mix well.
- Heat oil in pan. Take 1-2 tbsp of hot oil from pan and add it to pakora batter.
- Deep fry 3-4 pakoras at a time on medium flame till they get brown and crispy.
- Serve hot with ketchup or tamarind chutney.
