Khari Puri Recipe

This is simple salty snack recipe. In Maharashtra, this is included in Faral during Diwali festival. Faral is a kind of snack dish which consists of different sweet and salty items.

Ingredients:

  • 500 gms all purpose flour
  • 50 gms black pepper
  • 1 tsp asafoetida
  • 1 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp cumin seeds
  • salt as per taste
  • water as needed
  • oil for frying

Method
:
  1. Grind black pepper to a powder, else lightly crushed back pepper can be used directly.
  2. Mix all ingredients and a knead a dough by adding water.
  3. Form small lemon size balls. Roll them to puri and deep fry them 3-4 at a time in an oil.
  4. Once they come to room temperature, store them in airtight container to preserve freshness.
