Ingredients:
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1/4 tsp chat masala (optional)
- salt and black salt to taste
- 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
- 1-2 tsp oil
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
- pinch of asafoetida
Buttermilk substitution:
- 1/2 cup thick and sour yogurt
- 1 1/2 - 2 cup water
Method:
- Beat yogurt till smooth. Add water to it. Buttermilk is ready.
- Add sugar, salt,black salt, cumin powder, chat masala. Mix it well.
- Heat oil for tempering. Add mustard seeds. Wait till crackles.
- Add cumin seeds and asafoetida.
- Add this tempering to prepared buttermilk.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve with meal.
