Healthy Palak Thepla Recipe

Yield: 14-15 Thepale
Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 30 mins

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)
  • 1 cups chopped spinach (Palak)
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 4-5 green chillies
  • 7-8 tbsp yougurt
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp carom seeds
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • salt to taste
  • water to knead the dough
  • oil or ghee for frying

















Method:

  1. Make a fine puree of spinach, green chillies, ginger and garlic.
  2. Take remaining ingredients in mixing bowl except water.
  3. Add puree to it and knead it to form a dough. Add little water at a time if required.
  4. Apply some oil and let this dough rest for 10-15 mins.
  5. Take small ball and roll it to thin roti as much possible.
  6. Roast this thepala on tawa. Ghee or oil can be applied while roasting. Else butter can be applied after roasting.
  7. Prepare all other thepalas in the same way.
  8. Healthy and tasty breakfast of Palak Thepalas is ready. Serve hot with yogurt or pickle or ketchup.
