Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- 1 cups chopped spinach (Palak)
- 4-5 garlic cloves
- 1 inch ginger
- 4-5 green chillies
- 7-8 tbsp yougurt
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp carom seeds
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
- 2 tsp red chili powder
- salt to taste
- water to knead the dough
- oil or ghee for frying
Method:
- Make a fine puree of spinach, green chillies, ginger and garlic.
- Take remaining ingredients in mixing bowl except water.
- Add puree to it and knead it to form a dough. Add little water at a time if required.
- Apply some oil and let this dough rest for 10-15 mins.
- Take small ball and roll it to thin roti as much possible.
- Roast this thepala on tawa. Ghee or oil can be applied while roasting. Else butter can be applied after roasting.
- Prepare all other thepalas in the same way.
- Healthy and tasty breakfast of Palak Thepalas is ready. Serve hot with yogurt or pickle or ketchup.
