Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cooking Time: 25 mins
Ingredients:
- 5 cups rice flakes (Jad Pohe)
- 1/2 cup cashew nuts
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup peanuts
- 1/2 cup pandharpuri dal (dale)
- 1/4 cup sliced dry coconut (I didn't add it since I don't like it)
- 1/4 cup curry leaves
- 1/4 cup almonds (optional)
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp cumin powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
- salt to taste
- orange color
- oil for frying
Method:
- Mix red chili powder, salt, powdered sugar, cumin powder and color. Keep it aside.
- Heat oil in frying pan. Fry rice flakes, peanuts, cashew nuts, dale, raisins, curry leaves with rice flakes sieve one by one or together ( as per your convenience).
- While putting all these things on tissue paper after frying, add spice powder kept aside little at a time. Mix it well each time you add fried ingredients.
- Store Chiwada in airtight container once cooled. This chiwada tastes good if it is sweet. However, you can adjust sugar and spices as per your choice.
